Skills Assessment - not accessable due to insufficient documentation

I submitted a Skills Assessment to the Australian Computer society for my qualifications, previous employer and current employer. My qualifications were fine, my previous employer was fine (I submitted two Statutory Declarations for it), however my current employer which I submitted a reference from work signed by my boss a rejected - "acs "not accessable due to insufficient documentation". It was a reference from work detailing my employment there. However it wasn't on letter headed paper… that can't be why they rejected it… anyone have any thoughts or experience?

I can submit a review, but without knowing what other documentation to send I'm stuck…

I've been reading the attachment of the Skills Assessment.  It actually says at the top:

"Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 261312 (Developer Programmer) of the ANZSCO Code, being the skilled occupation indicated that you intend to nominate for migration purposes."

Do you think that's it and I don't need to worry about my current job not being assessed as 'it's suitable'? I'm just worried because to get my points I need at least 5 years in my nominated category.  My previous job that was assessed was 3 years, but the job that was not assessed was 4 years so in total 7 years.  Does this matter or do the Australian Government work the points out without the Skills Assessment information?

If your current job does not meet their criteria for the skill that you have nominated, then you wouldn't have enough experience to get those points.

The skills assessment just tells DIAC that you have the correct qualifications that will transfer across to Oz, not how much work experience you have.

I would enquire about the skills assessment and see if they can give you any information on what was wrong with your current employment - don't apply for your visa until you meet all of the criteria for it.

Good Luck!

Thanks. Since my last post I had contacted them and it was because my reference was not on Company Headed paper! I got another reference from work, submitted it ($305!!!) and got the Skills Assessment back yesterday, all okay now.

Next stepc the Visa :)

I'll make sure I read all the small print this time! lol

Thats great - shame you had to pay more - but at least its done now and thats not a lot in the long-run! Best of luck with visa application! :-)

Hi Richard,

As my current company does not provide the experience letter on the letter head, My experience from my current company is also rejected with the same reason. Can you please help me in knowing what should I do in this case.

Regards

Ankur
