Get Me Downunder

The Adventure Starts Here

Hi there. We are looking at a move to Brisbane to be closer to our daughter who is settled there with a young family.
We have looked at subclass 143 and 173 contributory parental visas.
Can anyone offer advice on these? What are the advantages or disadvantages of each? Is it quicker to use an agency or is this just another expense? We have a house to sell here too.
It would be good to hear from anyone who has undertaken the process.
I should add that we are frequent visitors to Brisbane.

Hi Ian

The obvious thing is cost - contributory parent visas don't come cheap !! All the more important to get the right advice. You can do it on your own of course, but if you make a mistake, you will have to resubmit your application - and the $6000 fee!

Brisbane is lovely - hope that you enjoy it.
