Hi Im Jane. I am a single Mum taking my son (11) to Sydney. My 175 was lodged on 29th October. I am a nurse and have a job lined up tho am waiting for confirmation of this. Hoping to start our new adventure in April, but feel like I am just playing the waiting game!!!

Would love to hear from anyone who is planning on heading to Sydney. My mate that I have met on an ex pat site (you know who you are!) leaves in 3 days and I need other people to whinge with!!!!

Good to know my advice is helpful Jane! And good luck with the move to Sydney. Any idea about where you are going to set up home yet? I have a ten year old, turning eleven this year, who has just started year 5 at a public school. There is lots to choose from with regard to schools, private, semi private (as in Catholic etc) and public. All depends on what you want to spend!! Best of luck. Aoife

If you're in Sydney from April we might bump into you. Just look for 2 very very pale folk with big hats and cameras, that'll be us :).

Good luck with your move.

thanks for your message Jane! you were my first!
Any best books you can recommend? You sound as if you struck lucky with your flights and job - well done! What made you decide on Sydney? It's very mind boggling, deciding where to go!

Speak soon

Didnt realise people actually won those sort of comps?! Obvisously they do though so well done, you lucky bugger!. Cant blame you for wanting to move away, Sydney is a fantastic place with plenty to do no matter what you are into. Plus I think you will be giving your son a much better future over there. Thats one of our main reasons for going, well trying anyway. Wish you both the best of luck
