Win a dream holiday to Western Australia

Tourism Western Australia is giving you the chance to win a holiday of a lifetime for two people travelling around the state.

In a move similar to the "best job in the world" island caretaker campaign launched by Tourism Queensland last year, Tourism WA is seeking people who can share a joke and not be shy about playing up for the camera, in exchange for a holiday in Western Australia.

Billed as The Extraordinary Taxi Ride, the campaign is a nine-week trip around Western Au… Continue

Australia still needs "tens of thousands of people"

Several trade bodies in Australia have reacted to the announcement today by Chris Evans, Immigration Minister, that there will be significant changes to the governments skilled migration programme in the year ahead.

The Chief Executive of the Australian Mines and Metals Association, Steve Knott, says there is a massive shortfall of mechanical and electrical staff - and chefs.

"The boom in the resources sector, particularly in the North West of Western Australia, has been quite strong so we wel… Continue

Hi john
We havent decided where to move to yet. We visited Australia last Christmas. We spent a week in Perth a week in Melbourne and a week in Sydney. the idea of the trip was to get a rough idea of each place. We plan another visit next year in which we hope to visit Queensland/Gold Coast areas and Perth again. We really like d Perth but still want to visit Queensland before we deide. It also depends on where we can find work.

Hi John,
I can't say that I know of any recruiters prepared to pay to attend a seminar unless the attendees have a visa in their hands. They all wait for people to arrive in Australia with a visa. Potential migrants often agree with my comment that if you send a resume to an Australian recruiter in response to a job advert you get little or no response. If anyone from the UK emails Southern Cross Personnel in Adelaide they get referred sraight back to me to package and represent. I believe this is unique?
I am willing to bet there are no recruiters who would pay to attend a seminar. I would attend as a relocation specialist but as a very small company your events are too expensive for me. I have spoken to Tom Rowlands about my situation and he understands. I am happy advertising in the magazine and support this web site to try and attract some of your readers.
Bets wishes

Tony

Hi John,
You will probably know that people wanting to 'mograte' to Australia under the 457 visa have new obstacles in their way. Proving you have qualifications is making it as hard as the old pathway D route. We have started to use the RSMS visa which as you know is a permanenet residency visa but only takes a few months to obtain., Unlike the GSM visas which I believe are being delayed. The RSMS visa still needs a job to get the visa but with my network of recruiters we are still finding jobs for clients even in these difficult times. There are still plenty of skills being sought. I have recently rebranded operating as Bridges Relocation with a new website www.bridgesrelocation.com. If anyone wants to chat for free about their options they are welcome to call me. Best wishes, Tony
