"Assume you've been asked for Stat Decs as well?  I found it took longer to get that stuff together than it did to get the visa!  But it's worth it in the end, so hang in there!"

"That was the advice they used to give; of you've been asked for the medical and had your police checks, chances are you will get it sooner than 8-9 months. Good luck in any event!"

What a Scorcher!

This week in Perth we've had temps in the high 30's, with over 40C predicted for the next couple of days; hope all the recent arrivals are coping!

One Year On

Today is the first anniversary of my departure from the UK; it seems like yesterday there was all the hassle and stress of packing up our life in the UK before we took a month long holiday in the US on our way to Perth.

I don't miss the UK at all, just people, and with Skype and FaceBook and the like, the distance really isn't that far.

Our First House!

This house is probably twice the size of our last home in the UK and we can't believe how quickly we can get the keys; about five weeks since I first saw it!

Currently in the running for two permanent jobs too, so at the moment everything is going in the right…
