One Year On

Today is the first anniversary of my departure from the UK; it seems like yesterday there was all the hassle and stress of packing up our life in the UK before we took a month long holiday in the US on our way to Perth.

 

I don't miss the UK at all, just people, and with Skype and FaceBook and the like, the distance really isn't that far.

Our First House!

After taking a while to get the mortgage (having no credit history here and only being in the country for five months), we got the approval yesterday so we can go ahead and buy the 4 bed, 2 bath house with a pool and spa in Currambine in Perth's northern suburbs.  We move in on 25/2!

 

This house is probably twice the size of our last home in the UK and we can't believe how quickly we can get the keys; about five weeks since I first saw it!

Arrived!

Well I finally arrived in Perth at the beginning of September and have loved every moment so far!

I had about a week off before I did some work at Perth's Royal Show and whilst there secured a three month contract job through one of the recruitment agents I'd registered with in May; so went straight from the Show to the job with one day off in between.

Currently in the running for two permanent jobs too, so at the moment everything is going in the right…
