Take from

Last week was an introduction on how I got the idea to move to Australia, this week I'm going to tell you about the application process. Hi Richard - I think this sounds the same as what we got - the request for more information letter should be just for meds, etc as you have said. It would be more specific if they needed anything else.

Hope the rest of your process goes smoothly!

Hey - we were asked to get medicals and police checks done by our case officer - so when we lodged our application in May we did not arrange to have these done at that point.

They are only valid for 1 year and so if you do them too soon you would have to re-do them when the CO asks for them. Also when visa is granted it has to be activated within a year of those (not a year from when the visa was actually granted) - for example, our police checks were done late November, medicals done in February and visa granted 2 weeks later - but we have to activate our visa by Dec this year.

It may be that the process has changed but I kinda doubt that - I would have a good look through the paperwork on DIAC website to make sure, but until you're actually assigned a case officer I would hold off on meds and police checks.

Hope this all makes sense and good luck!
