Hi Karen,
Thank you for your reply.... We also liked the sound of Adelaide, but when we went over Perth seemed more for Us!!! This still may change when we get there. We plan on renting for about a year, whilst trying to check out other areas. My husband also likes the sound of Brisbane.
We decided about 18months ago that we wanted to move to OZ.. My husband just wanted to 'get up and go' but what with the kids, I wanted to visit first. We looked at sponsorship visa's and then changed our minds to PR visas, as you'll have to do them at some point, less stressfull doing them here!
We both started applying for jobs, I got plenty of interest, whereas Jon got interest but they all wanted him there, before they would even offer him a job.
We are now on the last stages of the visa process, just waiting now. Sold house and are living with the 'in-laws'....
We have looked into everything, 'Take the furniture or sell it', 'Take the car or sell it' The costs of storage and shipping. With everthing considered, it works out cheaper to take your stuff but leave the car... It also is cheaper to store all your stuff with a shipping company.
If I can help with anything, or you just want to chat, let me know.
So where are you in the process? What makes you want to move to OZ? And why Adelaide?
Take care
