Stephanie Bennett IELTS Test.....Again!

Hi, I am re-sitting my IELTS again Saturday 21st August. I'm dreading it now as I know what to expect after failing it by 0.5 points the end of last year. I am hoping to conquer this vile test this time as I have spoken to an agency and they are willing to take on our application for a permanant visa. If there is anyone out there sitting the academic test this Saturday with me then i'll look forward to meeting you!! I get my results 3rd September so i'm keeping everything crossed this time!!!

Nicholas Anderson 3 Months: Affordable? Not sure

I am trying to research a few things, and the one issue I have is are there any apartments for rent in Australia. Everything seems to be HOTEL or something that is way too overpriced. Here in SoCal, I rent a room for $700.00 a month. It is close to my job, and I get a garage with that.

Now - if I travel to OZ for 3 months to more - are there any places near Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne that are about $700 to $1000 a month? I am just getting ide

Claire Bayliss Do POINTS really get prizes

Just completed a Quick Points assessment and achived a score of 105 points. This apparently enters the Pool which could sit there for 2 years before the visa is processed. I can take the English test giving me another 10 points but this is still below the 120 points required.

Would the fact that I could get 115 points put me in a better position.

Any info (or extra points!!!!!!!!!) would be appreciated.

Also just got a speeding fine on the A40 £60

Claire Bayliss It's all so confusing.

Dear all,

I'm starting to write a series of blogs in the hope that you guys can answer some of the many unanswered questions I have regarding moving my family to WA. Also I'm hoping that the blogs will allow me to reflect on this journey whilst at the same time help others in a similar situation.

As I write, all family members have agreed to the move. My husband David is a mechanical engineer with vast experience in heavy industry. I currently work as a college l

For anyone who is interested there are currently 3 episodes of series 3 of Wanted Down Under available to download on BBC iPlayer. Apparently BBC1 repeated the 3 episodes of the series during the afternoons of Wednesday 4th August to Friday 6th August to fill a gap in its schedules but have no plans to broadcast the rest of the series. You have one week from when they were first broadcast to download them.

John Australian Property Prices set to rise 30% in 2011

An undersupply in the Australian property market will force residential property prices up by 30% in the country according to Frank Gelber, chief economist at BIS Shrapnel. Quoted in the Sydney Morning Herald, Gelber said “we haven't got a bubble in our residential market. We're undersupplied, not oversupplied … [House] prices will go up another 30 per cent over the next three years.” “We’re not over-geared, we’re not overvalued and we’re not oversupplied … I can't remember in the last 30 year… Continue

Catherine Bryans RESIDENTS RETURN VISA

Hi everyone..... Myself and my family recently validated our 176 family sponsored visa to Melbourne. The visa label advises we can have multiple travel to and from Australia until December 14.... But I have been told by an Australian Citizen, that we still are required to complete a residents return visa ( if this is the case, we should have completed it in Australia prior to leaving!!!). Any information would be extremely grateful. Catherine Continue

jennifer salter clutching at straws!!!!

Well, I havent been on the site for some time now... mainly due to the fact that myself and family have given up all hope of having our visa granted... 2 years today we submitted our 176 and still we are waiting!! Our agents no longer keep in touch (they have had our money so I am sure we are a forgotten cause!) my endless emails to them are just met with statements that they do not know and therefore cannot comment on when we may get granted a visa... so we are left in the dark. john Australian PM Julia Gillard sets general election date

Hi

I am currently in the system having lodged a 176 State Sponsored Application for WA.
With the new election being called does this mean that all pending SMP (state migration plan),will be left until post election.
Its just that if my occupation is on WA SMP my case would be priority 2, hopefully allowing for a quicker resolution.
So has the election scuppered peoples dreams, further for now?

Cheers
