We have had our 136 Skilled Visas for a year now, unfortunately we have sold our house early 2008, 3 times, all have fallen through, we have had no viwers since July, now I am wondering do we just advertise our house for rent or still go ahead and wait for it to sell. The fears of losing jobs in he UK is very high, if we rent it out, the tenants become unemployed would the rent protection still cover, wish we were in Aus, we are looking at moving to The Sunshine Coast area, Queensland, we…

What is the best practise to transfer your uk state pension? I have heard you still have to pay into it at a reduced rate for two years then get it transfered over to Aus. What is the best way so that it wont get taxed? Any ideas?

Quite often, those with criminal convictions think that this prevents the opportunity of migrating to Australia.
Well this is not true!
If you have a conviction(s) this alone will not prevent you from obtaining a PR or any other visa.
In such cases, you have to declare them as Police checks reveal all any how, and present DIAC with a legal submission.
Hope this helps.

Hi all, thought I might try and help with questions, if I can, and if I can't I'll try and head you in the right direction. I'm no expert or anything like that, but I'm on several other websites, forums etc so again, if I can't help you I'll probably know someone who can !
As you can see from a previous blog we were granted our 175 (Victoria) sponsored visa on the 25th July, 2008. We decided to go through the process with an agent who I don't have any hesitation in recommending.…

I have 3 years 2 months experience as a Appliction Developer a skill on the skills list. Visa 175 requires you have minimum 4 years experience. Do you think I'm best waiting 10 months before applying or is there another option? If I wait 10 months I don't know how long from that point it would then take to get the visa 175....any idea?

Me and the family share the dream of many and thats to have a new life in OZ. Unfortunately though we are not classed as skilled!!!
Our route to getting our dream is the long expensive and very risky student route. Looking at studying on the sunshine coast. What we are having problems with is who should study, what should be studied etc etc.
If anyone one has any tips the please feel free to post them, all comments welcome.

Hi, I'm Howard, and my family and I have made the decision to move to australia, hopefully to NSW or QLD. Those two states were the only option for us because we are Rugby League mad and we hate the cold. We have just started the process of finding the right agent to act on our behalf, having lots of info packs and forms sent through the mail. at the moment my main concern is the work opportunities, will there be any when we arrive. I am a 38 year old Carpenter with loads of experience, and I…

Hi we're the terry's and we were granted our 176 visa on the 25th July, 2008. It took 6 months and 1 day exactly from when we filed our application online to the day we got it. We have our deadline of the 16th March, 2009 to validate our visa's, so that is exactly what we are going to do, what with the credit crunch and not being able to sell our house, it's the next best thing.
We've hired a motorhome for a month and will be starting off in Adelaide driving along The Great Ocean…
