Most of us get to a point in our lives where we yearn to broaden our horizons. Maybe you have progressed up the career ladder and want to move on to pastures new. If, like I was, you are looking for employment which will make the most of your skills you should turn your job search into an international one.
As a trained accountant with just under a decade’s experience I fancied a change of scenery 15 years ago. A friend asked whether I had thought about moving to Australia as he had…Continue

Up until my recent decision to move to Australia (as discussed in my previous post here) I have to admit that when it came to school work, university and my career I have often been guilty of pretty much coasting through life.
Sure, I have done alright in school, thanks to pushy teachers and caring parents (apologies to you both!) that wanted to see me do well, and then I…

I don’t think that anyone would dispute the fact that Australia appears to be a uniquely awesome country. With that said, not everyone wants to visit there and even fewer would be prepared to up sticks and shift their entire life abroad leaving family, friends and loved ones behind. So why do people give that up and risk it all for a new life down under?
I can only speak for myself but I know that my reasons would fall very much into the same categories as many others…Continue

I'm currently on a mild dose of anti-depressants and have been for 3 years now. I am taking them for an old anxiety problem (not actually depression). My husband has recently passed his plumbing trade assessment and we are waiting for the children's passports to come through before we proceed with the online 175 visa application. Can you tell me if the fact that I am on medication is going to hinder us at all when applying for the 175 visa? I am worried when it…Continue
Hi all, bit of advice please from anyone who has had experience in either of these matters. We have our 176 visa and will be setting off to Brisbane in Sept 11 to start our new lives.
I am just starting out of thinking going to Australia. I am an NVQ4 holder in health and social care.
I have family over there but not 1st family.
Can any body give me some advice on how to start.

Hi, we are in the process of gathering all the information needed for our Return Resident Visa. The last thing we need is proof of my wifes schooling. We have emailed Elizabeth Downes Primary in Adelaide and they say their records dont go back to 1976-1980. Can anybody please give us any advise on how to get proof of registation? Any help would be most appreciated

We are soooo excited as we had out SA state sponsor approved today!!!! Main visa going in in the next few days. There is a light at the end of that very long tunnel after all!
Adelaide here we come!! Whooooooooooooooooop!!
We are thinking of moving to oz either late 2012 or early 2013, my wife is a nurse and we are looking to get a few things on the go now i.e registration and skills assesment, can anyone tell me how you go about doing your skills assesment and does it expire at anytime- dont want to do it now if it has a time limit and runs out next year or anytime before we need it!
Thanks in advance.
