WA sponsorship - sufficient funds?

Hi all,

I am booked in to sit my IELTS test in May, and have sent off to have my skills assessed.

When I have these two completed I will be applying for Sponsorship from the WA government before applying for a General skilled offshore visa.

My question is, the WA government asks that you have "sufficient funds" to settle in Australia, a fairly loose term.

But how much is this deemed to be, and when do they require evidence?

Confused worried Accountant

Hi all,

I was just reading throught the changes to the immigration policies announced a few week ago, as I plan to begin my application for a Skilled Independent Visa as an Accountant early next year, first job the IELTS test, then the Skills Assesment, then the visa itself.

I had a quick glance at the CSL to make sure Accountants were still on there, and was slightly horrified to see the And/or amendment to the note:

Skills assessment - Does a qualified accountant really need a degree?

Hi all,

I am planning to migrate in a year or two on a Skilled Independant Visa - subclass 157, and am at the very beginning of my visa process.

I thought I'd do as much reading as possible before deciding on a migration agent.

I am a qualified accountant , ACCA since year 2000. I am from and live in the UK currently aged 31.

A few questions on emigration


I'm a 30 year old male from the UK, a qualified accountant, my wife is 28 and qualified to NVQ level 3 in early years child care, and we have a 6 month old daughter.

We spent a year travelling Oz in 2004/5 and only came back to pay off the credit cards. We intend to go permanently on a skilled visa as soon as we have a sufficient amount of money saved up.
