Well HELLO, look at the blog before you, we're arriving in Brisbane in a week and a half, our kids are 8 and 10 still we don't know anyone. Everything is new and scary, I'm going to be busy working split shifts as a nurse and my hubby is going to be busy doing the things that I normally do, and chinwagging with a gaggle of woman outside school gates is not probably the top of his agenda. So feel free do keep in touch, Kelly

Another thought.....check out www.britsinbrisbane.com and pomsinoz.com both have forums re meeting people and making friends for brits who have made the move. I wish you well and and I'm sure you will make friends in no time once you know where to start.

Hi Val. Have you tried the RSL in Irene Street? I don't live in Oz, just holiday there whenever I can, but we sometimes pop into the RSLs for lunch and they are a very good starting point for meeting the locals. Do you have any hobbies/interests in particular? There are some good clubs etc. depending upon your interests.
