Get Me Downunder

The Adventure Starts Here

As a relocation agent in Melbourne, Merricks have just told me about this new site and what a great idea it is!!

At Moving to Melbourne we aim to give you the best start in your new life by taking away the stress and helping you in achieving a smooth and successful move.

As expats, we made the move ourselves and through our own experiences which included lots of ups and downs, we are able to offer you a very personal service. This can include anything from a basic meet and greet at the airport up to providing you with short and long term furnished rental accommodation as well as various other packages.

Whatever your needs Moving to Melbourne are here to make your new life a success from day one. A brief outline includes: Collecting you from the airport, meet and greet, guided tours around suburbs, trips to the shops, caring for your pets, babysitting children, help finding a rental, school information and more.

From the day you first find out you are emigrating we will be there for you. One of our staff members will put together a personalised plan of what your requirements are and how we can meet them. We will also send you information to the UK including latest property rentals/sales listings and local newspapers for your designated suburbs.

Don't worry about leaving your pets behind either, we can help arrange your paperwork and can collect and board your pet from the quarantine station until you have permanent accommodation organised.

Hi Marion
Good luck with the move, it is a big step but worth it!!
Once you arrive in Melbourne and have got yourself sorted with an address (this can be a short term rental) you can apply for a TFN online at: and with medicare you just go in to the nearest office with you passport, visa, birth certificate and they will get you set up.
In regards to bank accounts it is totally up to you if you want to open them before you leave the UK or once your here. If you do open them in the UK you will be asked to report to your nearest branch when you arrive with your passport, visa and any other information they ahve sent you they will then validate your account and send you out your cards usually within 5 working days.
Hope this helps and once again good luck with the move.

We'll be arriving in melbourne on 24th April to start our holiday/reconnoiter.

We'll be there for 5 days so if you don't mind us contacting you and running some questions past you that'd be great.
