Well timetable for move to Perth has been moved up to Sept 2012 as opposed to 2013. realised not going to be able to finish degree course part time by then and don't want to delay move any further before the children get too old and settled here (they are 5 and 3 at the moment). Starting to think about lodging my application for a spouse visa in next few weeks and we are decorating like mad and selling things we don't need in order to sell our house and downsize to give us some money to play with if the dollar suddenly shoots up. Starting to think about jobs or possibly continuing my education in Perth although judging on what I have found so far study looks fairly expensive in Oz compared to here! If anyone else is making the move to Perth around the same time would be good to keep in touch as we will all be going through the same feelings and emotions no doubt! Will update further if things progress ;)

Thanks Steph for the advice. We visited Perth in June as I wouldn't dream of moving somewhere I have never been! My husband is an Australian citizen and lived in Perth of 8 years so that has been a bit of a help. I am an animal technician for the government here but not too sure if there is a similar occupation in Australia. We are going to the seminar in Birmingham on Saturday so will hopefully get some clearer ideas there. We have set ourselves a goal of 2013. When are looking to get out there?

Hi! We are just about to start the process!! I am hopefully sitting the academic IELTS test in October as I am a nurse. You may also need to sit this test depending on what your skill is. Then a skills assessment is required! This is before you can even apply for a visa!!! If you are looking to emigrate use the internet as much as possible to find out as much as you can...or even better visit the country if you have never been(unfortunately doing this may make you feel totally depressed to have to come back to miserable Britain!!!!). But it does give you a good outlook at what life is like over there...its a dream!!

Good luck and keep in touch!
Steph x
