Get Me Downunder

The Adventure Starts Here

Hi all,

The wife and I are new to this site so you will have to bear with us. Laura has recently passed the academic IELTS test so we will be lodging our visa application shortly. However, as we are 8 weeks pregnant we are concerned that we will miss the new July deadline as we have been told that Laura and the new baby will be have to do their medicals once the baby is born. Does anyone know if this issue would affect our visa application as we are aware that the Australian government is in the process of changing things.

Regards

Stu and Laura

Hi Stu and Laura,

We got this from John Adams at Immigration2oz

There is not enough information to be specific, age, occupation, visa subclass etc.

However if they are close to lodgement they should do so to protect themselves against any adverse changes. The medical question can be delayed because of the pregnancy without affecting the validity of the visa application. All this will do is delay their departure date, depending on the visa subclass and occupation.

I'd be happy to help if you want to contact me directly -Phone: +44 (0) 1483 230 483
