Hi Sarah

Try not to worry too much. Life is full of choices - and this is yours. We felt the same, and it is a big move, but if it wasn't for the fact that it is 24 hours away, you probably woudn't be worried. We thought long and hard about the move and realised that if we wanted it badly enough, we would get it - which is what we are doing. If it doesn't work out, then you can come back - if you never went, you would always wonder........

We are having a year in Cyprus as a stepping stone to get the kids (and Kerry) used to being away from home, but still within reach - kind of a compromise. We go in May and then to Adelaide in Spring 2012. I think we will be doing a revisited WDU before we get to OZ as have spoken to the Beeb recently. I shouln't worry too much about the programme, its only a TV show at the end of the day, and doesn't really make any decisions for you.

Good luck and keep in touch

Hi Sarah

Simon here - wanted down under!

Firstly we were told that the last series was the last - no more! So maybe you know different.

This is how it was for us. Monday 11th Jan 2011 watched the show. It was snowing so I couldn't work. Out of boredom, I applied on line that lunchtime and thought - no chance!!! That afternoon I was phoned back, three days later they came down to do a video interview and then two week later, they filmed the home leg (three days in our home). A month after that we were on a plane to Brisbane. We were going anyway, so it was a real bonus. We were told that they get 100 applications a day and what they are looking for are real people with an openness and ability not to freeze but show real emotion (we certainly did that). They also wanted at least one of us to be undecided and have some family issues to leave behind ( kids from ex marriage etc).

Very happy to answer all you throw at me. It is the best experience of our lives and we only now realise just how special it was - sad its over.

I think we are going to do a revisited next year - they still want to do those I was told.

For us it is big adventure. As you now we have our Weddings business and we will be in Adelaide in June 2012. But first we are having a year in Cyprus - moving this summer. Its a kind of stepping stone for Kerry and the kids to get them used to being away, but also to be semi near for a while - kind of breaking them in if you like.We will run our business from there.

Where do you plan to go and hat are your jobs, hopes, fears etc. Have you been before? Its got some pitfalls - not many!

Look forward to hearing from you and anything you want to ask - just ask!

All the best

Simon
