I am sure you heard the announcement of the new Silver Fern Visa in New Zealand, which will be launched officially in April 2010. This visa will offer a fantastic opportunity for skilled people under the age of 35 years, who are unable to apply for immigration to Australia.
New Zealand is a gorgeous country and offers many opportunities for a fantastic lifestyle, quite similar to Australia, however with the benefits of the gorgeous mountains and snow-sport opportunities.

This must have been particularly upsetting for those people who had already lodged their application and had it returned to them as it was no longer valid. Continue
Since the announcement, there has been an increased interest in finding job sponsorship in Australia, as these types of immigration…

Tourism Western Australia is giving you the chance to win a holiday of a lifetime for two people travelling around the state.
In a move similar to the "best job in the world" island caretaker campaign launched by Tourism Queensland last year, Tourism WA is seeking people who can share a joke and not be shy about playing up for the camera, in exchange for a holiday in Western Australia.
Billed as The Extraordinary Taxi Ride, the campaign is a nine-week trip around Western… Continue

The wife and I are new to this site so you will have to bear with us. Laura has recently passed the academic IELTS test so we will be lodging our visa application shortly. However, as we are 8 weeks pregnant we are concerned that we will miss the new July deadline as we have been told that Laura and the new baby will be have to do their medicals once the baby is born. Does anyone know if this issue would affect our visa application as we are aware that the Australian… Continue

My family and I are looking to move to Australia in the next 3 years (ish), and I was wondering if anyone out there has any knowledge or experience of the flooring industry out there, or more specifically the wood flooring industry. Any information, big or small, would be greatly received, i.e best area for work, typical rates of pay, contacts etc. Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I look forward to reading your replies, Mike.

My passport is up in 2011 and I was thinking I'd be better and cheaper off renewing it here before heading out to Oz.
One question I have is does my visa tag get transferred across into the new passport, or do I just travel with the two of them if going in and out of Oz?

Just had a thought this morning (rare I know) while sitting drinking coffee in the conservatory looking out at a dark, cold Scotland and wishing I was in Brisbane.
We have our permanent resident visas good up until 2013. Now we plan to move this year, probably August, but my thought was - is there some criteria we need to fulfil to keep the visa or qualify for citizenship. I remember reading something yonks ago about having to live for 24 months and work for 12 months but can't… Continue

In December we were granted our Visa's!!!! Horray!!! We are going to Australia in June to validate the visa's and just wanted to check something. Our old passports have already been sent to the Australian Embassy and have had labels attached (they have since been returned to us). But in May two of us will need new passports. Will this cause a problem? I have been advised that all I need to do is make sure I bring the old passports and the visa grant letter when… Continue
