It is 2010 and I am not any closer to moving anywhere.

Ode to the Global Economy. The jobs are not there, and the outlook for the rest of the year is bleak. It is a dream of mine to work on getting a virtal job, paying off my debt, and have the ability to move to Sydney Australia for a year or two. That would be a dream come true. Dreams happen for other people it seems like. I can work hard more and more; and nothing is going to change. I do not see the company that I work for any closer to selling than it was 3 years ago. Thankyou everyone who replied to my letter.A couple of answers to your questions;my husband completed the vetassess assessment in June 2008 and our application was received by the DIAC in August 2008.At that time bricklayers were on the skills in demand list but were taken off by the following January.Since then we have tried really hard to get a company to sponsor us in Perth as they need bricklayers ( not on the list for Brisbane) and we have had no luck (which is not surprising,…

Any Ideas

Hello, we are a family of 4 trying to emigrate to Brisbane with not much luck. We have family there and applied for a 176 (family sponsored skilled migrant) in August 2008.My husband is a bricklayer and has been told it could take up until 2012, which is so frustrating and we are getting very fed up of putting our life on hold.We contacted our agent this week to see how long state sponsor is (we thought we might have to consider Perth even though we have never been there) and she told us…

Electrician needed

Hello - we moved to Sunshine Coast Queensland 3 years ago. We bought a business and got our Business owner visa. We want to move on now - the business is available for sale - you would preferably need to be an electrician to run it. It took my husband only three months to get the necessary licenses. You can email for more details. It is a great family place to live here - plenty to do - beautiful beaches, shopping centres, schools etc, very clean and the weather is just… Continue

And now for something completely different!

Some of you might remember this expression from the days of Monty Python's Flying Circus when John Cleese sat behind a news desk (minus trousers!) and introduced a new sketch which had absolutely nothing to do with the previous one! The recently announced changes to the skilled migration program together with the changes that are still to come will change the face of Australian migration forever.

The single change to date that will have the most immediate impact is the removal of the…

Removal Companies

Hi, just asking if anyone had any recommendations on removal companies to Oz. We are looking to move just our personal items, clothes, toys, books, pictures etc, no furniture. We have been intouch with 1st Move International who charge you by volume and use the Shrinkfast packing system. If anyone has used them we would love to hear from you.

Thanks Cassie.
