Well our electronic form and paperwork was received by SA on the 17th March.....now have up to an 8 week wait for their decision. I have collated and sorted all the paperwork ready for the main visa lodge as we only have 30 days after receiving their decision to get it in. So with all that sent and done and with Ian Harrop & Associates doing everything for us, all we can do now is sit back and wait..........!

WHAT’S IN A NAME? There are domain names, dot-nets, dot-coms, with dot just about everything else, not to mention business names, company names, trademarks and then there are aliases and YOU.
Thousands of people for various reasons change their names every year throughout Australia and many more want to change, yet never get started because they don’t know how.
In Australia you can no longer change your name by deed poll at a Land Titles Office, so how would you change… Continue

My question is to tradesmen or women moving or have moved down under, is it worth shipping my kit of 110v power tools down under where i know they use 220v on site? I'm hoping that i can bring my transformer and that i'l be able to work my kit off of that, but is this acceptable on Australian building sites? I'm a carpenter and carry a lot of equipment which iv collected over the years and paid a lot of money for and it would be a pity to sell all up and start again, any help would be… Continue

We are just waiting for approval from VETASSES of my husbands skills as a joiner which we are hoping to have within the next few days. Can anybody tell me how long it normally takes from paying agent to put everything through to australian government to you being granted the visa (if succesful.) Also is there a time limit that I would have to wait after entering the country before gaining employment? So many more to ask, will leave them for another time.

Me and my husband are thinking of emigrating to Australia but my husband has type 2 diabetes. We visited the Down Under Live show yesterday in London and asked an immigration expert if this would be a problem but even he didn't seem to know! I have been looking on the internet but there doesn't seem to be much information on it. Has anyone got any knowledge/advice on this? Thanks

I just wanted to write to let everyone know our journey so far. After reading on different forums about nurses trying to emigrate and either not knowing where to begin, or like myself getting confused along the way. I thought if I told you our journey it may help others along the way. Here goes....
It started in Jan 2002, when my husband and I decided to take our 2 daughters (then 4yrs & 9yrs) on holiday to Sydney, Australia to visit my… Continue

My partner has been offered a transfer with his employers, to Perth on a 457 visa. We are trying to sort our belongings etc and are unsure which removal/shipping company to go with. Please can anyone recommend one that they have used? We know that it's not always "the cheapest is the best" so would be grateful for any help. We currently live in Reading UK.
