Green Light or Red Light .

After researching a move to Oz quite thoroughly we now find ourselves at the point as to whether we bite the bullet & appoint a migration agent to process the visa application or we choose the option to stay in the UK.

We know we can get a 175 visa as we're both accountants so there is no problem there, however the kids who are 11 & 13 have picked up on some conversations about moving down under & they are saying that if we were to go they would stay in the UK, Bless… Continue

Electrical goods in Oz

Right, this may sound like a really daft question but I would like clarification on the electrical voltages in Oz.

Looking on line, I get the faint suspicion that I might be able to use my UK sourced electrical items in Australia, as the voltage is the same as the UK & all I would need to do is to swap the plug over to an Ozzy style

Emigrating with a dog - how much ?

Hi, has anybody got any idea how much it will cost to take a dog out to Oz.

I have managed to get a rough idea of the quarantine /vet fees whilst in Oz but would like a rough idea of the shipping costs.
I have been told in no uncertain terms that the dog is coming us.!
Am I correct in thinking that the pet quarantine depots are only in Sydney, Melbourne & Perth?

Australian Schools league Tables

Does anybody know if there is in existence a league table of schools in say Adelaide or Melborne carried out by independent government inspectors, similar to those available in the UK

Education Fees in Australia

We're currently in the process of researching the possibility of a move down under to either Melborne or Adelaide.

Trying to get some idea of the educational facilities within these 2 areas for ages 11 & 13 currently, (more like 13 & 15 if & when we make it out there !)

We read one article that appeared to indicate that if the kids are not native Australians then the education was chargeable, but this has been denied by somebody we know who has just come back… Continue
