Get Me Downunder

The Adventure Starts Here

Hi Everyone,

Looking for a quick vote as whether to use an agent or not? Did you go it alone, how was it? fairly easy or wish you had used an agent?

Paul.

Thanks Jo, we have done skills assessment on our own so far, got all the paperwork we need so probably going to go it alone.

I have applied under the Regional Sponsored Migration and I have done it all myself.  Takes some effort and organisation,  but given the money I am saving, I think it is worth it.  I haven't had my approval of visa yet, so I may "eat my words" yet,  but have got through the regional checks ok.  Good luck whatever you decide!

I used an agent and they do take the stress out of completing the paperwork, but fish around first.

We used an agent : no regrets.  Advice : check around and find one which has been recommended by others. Ask for a written quote of costs before starting.

Paul ... how did you go about verifying your wifes documents for AHPRA... did you use a notary or ordinary solicitor?

Thanks Paul and Kevin, will have a think, my wife is a nurse we are already in the process of sorting her registration and skills assesment that's been ok so should be alright. Haven't seen the visa forms yet though!

Well I did it myself, but mine was a spousal visa and it was all very straightforward.
