Get Me Downunder

The Adventure Starts Here

Hi, has anybody got any idea how much it will cost to take a dog out to Oz.

I have managed to get a rough idea of the quarantine /vet fees whilst in Oz but would like a rough idea of the shipping costs.
I have been told in no uncertain terms that the dog is coming us.!
Am I correct in thinking that the pet quarantine depots are only in Sydney, Melbourne & Perth?

Speak to your removals company and they should be able to make all the arrangements for your dog.

There is currently high demand for kennels at some of Australia’s pet quarantine stations. For this reason, the Australian Quaranteen and Inspection Service cannot guarantee your pet a space at a quarantine station, even if you have the appropriate import permit. To confirm availability, contact the relevant quarantine station - information on the AQIS website or go to the Abels website section on moving with pets for further information.

You will need to make sure you check the availibility at the Quarantine Stations as they can be booked up months in advance. You won't regret bringing your pet here - although it is very expensive.

Hi Dave,
Are you sitting down?
The dog's fare will probably be more than yours!
Depends on the size or so I've been told, budget in the order of 2,500-4,000 stg.
Yes, only those three quarantine stations. 30 days quarantine if your dog is from the UK.
