Get Me Downunder

The Adventure Starts Here

Hi Everyone,

We can find plenty of information regarding taking cats and dogs to Australia, but my daughter wants to take her pet rabbit. Looking on different sites the information for 'other' pets is limited. The way one site read was that Australia only accept rabbits from New Zealand, but i'm not sure if i've read it right. I just wondered if anyone could shed any more light on this as our younger daughter feels better about going if 'Cookie' can come too!

We appreciate any information that anyone may know.

I think you'll find that Australia prohibits the import of any rodents (including rabbits). You may be right about an exemption for New Zealand however.

I'm pretty certain that it's illegal to own a pet rabbit in Queensland. :-(
