These remain for the fourth year in a row at the highest levels in Australian history at 190,000 permanent residency places.
These are broken down with 128,550 for skilled migration (including General Skilled Migration, permanent Employer Sponsorship and Business Skills) and 57,400 places for family migration. The remaining places out of this 190,000 comprise 565 under the Special Eligibility stream and 3,485 for Child category migrants.
The skilled migration intake remains exactly the same from 2014-15 at 128,550, with the family migration intake slightly lowering from 60,885 last programme year. The difference in the family migrant intake from 2014-15 to 2015-16 is because this upcoming program year the Australian Government has set aside the 3485 places specially for Child category migrants.
In addition to the 190,000 Migration Programme spots there is also a further 13,750 places for humanitarian entry in 2015-16.
